30,000 and counting: Parent Pathways hits major milestone
More than 30,000 parents across Australia have now received help towards their education and employment goals through the Albanese Labor Government’s Parent Pathways program.
Parent Pathways provides personalised pre-employment support to eligible parents and carers of children aged under six years. The program enables them to achieve their education, employment and career goals, while keeping their family front and centre.
As Australia’s first new service delivered under the Albanese Government’s broad employment agenda, Parent Pathways was co-designed with parents, carers and community organisations to ensure it is responsive to family needs.
Support available through Parent Pathways includes access to language and literacy programs, help with childcare, assistance with textbooks or equipment, referrals to financial information services, career guidance and support for training.

“The success of Parent Pathways is a powerful example of how valuing parents’ caring role and giving parents flexibility to engage with the program on their terms, and in ways that fit around their family life, is achieving outcomes.”
“By partnering with the community and listening to parents, we are delivering a service that genuinely supports families,” Minister Rishworth said.
