More opportunities, more skills, more jobs for northern Tasmania through clean energy training

More Tasmanians will have the opportunity to train for the jobs of the future thanks to a $2.6 million investment by the Albanese Labor Government to upgrade clean energy training facilities at TasTAFE's Alanvale Campus in Launceston. 

The investment will expand training facilities for electrotechnology, battery systems, solar technology and electric vehicles, helping students gain the skills needed for in-demand clean energy careers.

The funding is being delivered through the Albanese Labor Government's Clean Energy Capital Investment Fund, supporting the expansion of clean energy training capacity by building and upgrading facilities that reflect industry needs.

TAFE delivers life-changing opportunities for Australians and plays a vital role in building the workforce needed for the future.

Alanvale is TasTAFE's largest campus in northern Tasmania and already serves as a major training hub for trades and technical skills, including electrotechnology, automotive and construction training.

The upgraded facilities will increase training capacity, improve safety and support more consistent delivery of clean energy training across Tasmania. 

The project is expected to be completed by early 2028.
