2,000 Queensland apprentices seize opportunity under Small Business Apprenticeship Pilot Program

The Albanese and Crisafulli Government's joint Small Business Apprenticeship Pilot Program has reached a major milestone, with 2,000 construction apprentices across Queensland now taking up the opportunity to build their skills, while supporting small and family businesses.

The program, jointly funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments under the National Skills Agreement, provides targeted wage subsidies to help small businesses train and retain apprentices, easing cost pressures while strengthening the state’s construction workforce.

Since its launch, hundreds of small and family businesses across Queensland have participated in the program, helping to create a stronger pipeline of skilled workers to meet growing demand for housing and infrastructure.

The pilot program supports apprentices across a range of construction trades and provides eligible small businesses with wage subsidies during off site training periods.

It is evidence of the Albanese and Crisafulli Governments' investment in shared priorities delivering outcomes: strengthening the skills pipeline, supporting small business, and securing an economic future.
